Hello 🙂 It’s been almost a month since I started the blog, and I plan to continue doing so for as long as I can. There are so many topics and things that I want to review and blog about not just for my self-satisfaction, but also for you guys. I want my reviews to be helpful, interesting and pleasing to read. After all, my aim is to become a better reader and reviewer for all of you. Thus, here are a few changes I’m going to make from now on:

  1. Write shorter posts: If you have read some of my first few reviews, you may have realized that they are horrifyingly long. I had this brilliant idea that if I wrote every detail for someone who had never come across the book/film/show I’m reviewing about, I would be doing them a favor. But after reading other blog reviews and thinking it thoroughly myself, I realized I didn’t even want to read my reviews again. Some were just too long. Hence, I will stop trying to squeeze in unnecessary information and try to go straight to my thoughts and opinions about the topic instead.
  2. Be more creative: So far, the only things I have blogged about are what you can see on my homepage. For each review, I roughly follow the same pattern of the assigned category. Which could potentially become kind of monotonous and repetitive. So, I am going to try to blog about other things within my categories of interest (mainly bookish) and just let my thoughts and creativity (wherever that is) flow.
  3. Be bold and brave: I am a very private person when it comes to personal topics. I don’t explicitly share much about myself IRL, and that’s partly the reason I created a Bookstagram and created this bookish blog. Writing has always been a form of catharsis for me; I’ve always had a diary – whether a physical one, or online – ever since I was 11, I believe? I’ve never been consistent, but writing was what I resorted to when I was emotionally lost. Thus, I want to be able to share and write about anything that makes me feel satisfied and happy, without worrying too much about whether my opinions are good enough, or whether I’m being too personal/boring. After all, there are no rules nor restrictions as to who I have to be when I’m blogging. Additionally, I’m starting to make my Bookstagram more of a personal account instead, where it’s not just books books books, and it’s also about the things I’m doing nowadays, etc.

In summary, I wrote this as a self-help post for myself, because it’s something that I have been thinking about for a while. But please – feel free to leave a comment on your thoughts, recommendations, anything. I want this blog to be as interactive as my Bookstagram.

Thanks for reading 🙂

  2. Adding a personal dimension to anything you do creates less of a barrier between you and your bloggers. You are no longer an anonymous grey silhouette in a sea of silhouettes, no longer yet another anonymous blogger in a train of bloggists riding the cyberspace metro rail.

    Hope it all goes well!
PS: You have a new follower or something… 😉

  3. I look forward to seeing your new changes in the coming month 🙂 I definitely have to work on the same things! I’m very glad I’m not the only one, and I’m excited to come back to your blog for inspiration!
